Suburbs we cover here: Rooihuiskraal, Rooihuiskraal North, Heuweloord, Eldoraigne
The Reeds is 1990s family housing on regular stands, and like most of southern Centurion it is going through a wave of first-generation door replacements.
What we see in The Reeds
The pattern is always the same: the door has got heavy, the springs have gone at least once, and the owner assumes the door is old. It is not old — it was cheap. Understanding that changes the decision, because a properly specified replacement in the same opening will do considerably better than the first one did without costing much more.
We measure the reveal at three heights anyway, because even newer stock settles a little and an opening built in 1996 is not necessarily square in 2026. Hanging the guides to what is actually there is what stops the new door binding in its second summer.
Getting on site in The Reeds
Access across residential Centurion is easy — proper driveways, room to work, sound brickwork. The survey covers the reveal at three heights and the floor level across the opening, because even thirty-year-old stock settles enough to matter. Where the door is going to be automated we measure the headroom at the same visit.
Motors, backup and load shedding
Nearly every replacement here is automated, and the motor is where the original installation most often cut its corner. We size to the measured weight of the curtain rather than to the width of the door, which is what stops it running hot on an opening that has gained friction over thirty years. Battery backup is fitted as standard and the manual release goes where you can reach it.
Repairs on any make
We repair any make. Across residential Centurion it is overwhelmingly springs, bearings and motors that were undersized when the developer fitted them. We carry the common sizes on the vehicle so most are finished on the first visit. When a curtain is genuinely finished we say so plainly, and when it only needs springs we say that too.
What it costs
We quote from a measured survey and the survey is free anywhere in Centurion. What moves the price is the size of the opening, the slat gauge the job actually needs, whether it is motorised, the bracing a wide span calls for, and whether the reveal needs making good before a door can be fixed to it. We itemise those rather than handing you one number, so you can see what you are paying for and take out anything you do not want. A rough width and height over the phone is enough for a ballpark; we confirm it on site before anything is built.
How soon we can be there
Breakdowns in The Reeds are attended same-day wherever we can reach you, and our teams work Centurion every day. A door that will not close is treated as urgent. For new work the survey is normally within a day or two of your call, manufacture takes a few working days because every curtain is built to your measurements at our own works, and installation is a morning for a single and most of a day for a double with automation.
Getting a quote in The Reeds
Send us the opening width and height — and on older stock, the width at the top and at the bottom if you can get both — along with a photo of the opening from a few metres back. If you are in a complex or an estate, say so and we will work to the approved specification from the start. From there we book the free measured survey in The Reeds, confirm the sizes ourselves, and put a fixed price in writing. Nothing is built until you have agreed that price.

Common questions
Roller doors in The Reeds
Because it was builder-grade, not because it is old. A developer specifying two hundred houses buys the cheapest compliant door — light slat, basic springs, a motor sized to the letter of the requirement — and fifteen to twenty-five years is exactly what that buys. Nothing has gone wrong. The door has simply finished, on schedule.
Usually, if they went in together, because they tend to fail within a year or two of each other and a separate call-out later costs more than doing it now. But not always. We weigh the curtain and check the motor at the same visit, and if the motor has real life left in it we will say so rather than selling you one.
Considerably, if it is specified properly, and that is the useful part. You are not obliged to repeat the developer specification just because it is what came out. A heavier curtain and correctly rated springs in the same opening cost a little more and last a good deal longer. We will show you the difference on the quote.
