- Openings to 8 000mm wide
- 0.8mm–1.2mm galvanised slat
- Chain hoist or motorised
Centurion industry splits into two kinds of site. The N1 corridor through Route 21 Corporate Park, Samrand, Kosmosdal and Louwlardia carries modern distribution and corporate warehousing built for volume. Hennopspark, Zwartkop and the older industrial ground carry workshops, engineering and trade premises that have been in service for decades. On both, the door is production equipment rather than a fitting.
How we build industrial roller shutter doors
- Heavy-gauge curtains chosen for the cycle count the opening actually sees, not the opening width.
- Deep guides so a knocked curtain stays in its channel instead of coming out of the building.
- Barrels sized on deflection across the real span, which is what stops a wide door bowing.
- Industrial drives with proper duty ratings and a manual override an operator can reach.
High-cycle doors for the N1 distribution corridor
A dock door on a distribution building can open several hundred times in a shift. Nothing about a standard door is built for that. Those openings get industrial side drives, heavy bearings and a curtain edge specified for the wear, and where the cycle count is high enough we will recommend a high-speed door rather than running a shutter faster than it was designed to move.
Anchoring on dolomitic ground
A heavy industrial door puts a real load into the wall or steel it hangs from, and on ground known to move that fixing is the thing to get right. We check the substrate at survey, plumb the guides to the door rather than to a wall that may have shifted, and quote structural correction separately rather than pretending the fixing will hold.
Impact protection on busy yards
Forklift and vehicle strikes account for most industrial door damage. We specify deeper guides, fit bollards or impact posts where the traffic justifies it, and build the check into the maintenance schedule.
Wide-span and high openings
Openings above about five metres need the barrel, the shaft and the fixing steel calculated rather than assumed. Where the existing structure will not carry a wider door we quote the steelwork instead of hanging a door off something that will move.
Fire-rated and insulated industrial doors
Where a compartment line runs through an opening the door must be a rated, certified assembly that drops when it is told to. Where a building is temperature-controlled we build insulated curtains with proper seals. Both are quoted as what they are, certification included.
Doors on low-lying and flood-affected sites
Premises on the low ground near the Hennops need the threshold detail thought about, not just the door. That means a bottom rail and seal specified for water contact, drainage that takes water away from the guide feet, and a control panel mounted high enough to survive.
Three-phase power and controls
Most Centurion industrial sites have three-phase available, which allows drives with the torque and duty for heavy doors. Controls run to a station at the bay, with isolation so the door can be made safe for maintenance.
What an industrial roller shutter door costs in Centurion
The price follows the span, the gauge, the duty rating of the drive and any structural work, quoted as separate lines. Survey and quote are free.
